Maryland well rules in brief

Maryland's State Board of Well Drillers licenses everyone who drills, repairs or seals wells or installs well pumps and water conditioning equipment. It was created by Title 13 of the Environment Article. (Source: State Board of Well Drillers) Read the Maryland well rules.

Maryland has three well driller license categories (general, geotechnical and water supply), each with a master and a journeyman class, plus restricted licenses for water conditioner installer, water pump installer and well rig operator.
